For more than a decade, Lois served in various ministries and roles sharing the gospel. Her ministry involvement began with Christians on Campus at Santa Fe College (2008-2009) in Gainesville, Florida followed by her participation in the FAMU Wesley Foundation (2010-2012), various campus ministries at UC Santa Barbara (2012-2017), and Community Bible Study (2018-present).
As a Souled-out Servant Leader with the FAMU Wesley Foundation, Lois founded IMPACT, which began as a weekly Bible Study she taught for students in the Phyllis J. Wheatley dormitory where she was a Resident Assistant at the time. On January 29, 2016, Lois founded The TakeOver—a monthly united prayer and praise gathering at UCSB. With this event, Lois collaborated with leaders from diverse campus ministries to share God’s love and unify people across denominations and cultures within the greater Santa Barbara community and beyond. Some of these ministries included: OneBody United, Cru, Asian American Christian Fellowship, Saint Mark’s University Parish, Santa Barbara House of Prayer, Mwanga Band (Nairobi, Kenya), Isla Vista Prayer & Prophecy, and South Coast Church.
In addition to leading The TakeOver, Lois engaged in various leadership roles within Intervarsity Christian Fellowship and Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship, as well as participated in The Navigators to spread the gospel within the local community.
After moving to northern California, Lois became involved with the Roseville Evening Community Bible Study class and has served in following capacities within CBS: Young Adult (YA) Core Leader (2019-2020), Women’s Sub Core Leader (2020-2021), Women’s Core Leader (2021-2022), and Servant’s Team Member and Senior Leader (2021-2023). She is also a member of the Strategic Planning Team for CBS YA North America.
Lois is passionate about engaging in leadership development and coming alongside others to help them grow, not only spiritually, but holistically. Realizing that the harvest is plentiful and the laborers are few, she understands the importance of taking initiative to serve as the Lord leads in expanding His kingdom. Lois earned her Ph.D. in Education with an emphasis in Leadership and Organizations from UCSB and her B.S. in Elementary Education from FAMU. Born and raised in Gainesville, Florida, Lois currently resides in Rocklin, CA, and takes pride in being a bicoastal resident.
